Scouts of Troop #34 (Huntington Station, NY) received a surprise visit from Huntington Councilman Eugene Cook during their Merit Badge class on Citizenship In The Community taught by Counselor Janet Heller-Smitelli last week. 

Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb along with Assembly members Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington), Nicole Malliotakis (R,C,I-Brooklyn, Staten Island) and their Assembly Minority colleagues today unveiled a legislative agenda designed to make a college education more affordable for students and families in New York State. Tuition costs have increased dramatically, creating financial hardships for families and saddling many young people with debt before their professional careers even begin. 

U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson opened an exploratory committee on Monday to raise money for a potential gubernatorial bid in 2018.

For the first time since Gallup began measuring party affiliation nationwide, there are now more red states than blue ones. Twenty states are either solidly Republican or leaning Republican, while just 14 are solidly or leaning Democratic. The remaining 16 are competitive between the two parties.

The Melville Chamber of Commerce named Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci its Business Advocate of the Year for 2015 during an annual dinner held at the Colonial Springs Golf Club in Farmingdale on January 28th.
