Flag Day 2016

A Message from Elks Lodge #1565: "The celebration of Flag day is an annual event that is celebrated on June 14th. What most people don't know is that The Elks Organization were instrumental in lobbying for the recognition that eventually became an official holiday for the nation in 1916. Unfortunately, for most, this holiday has faded from most official calendars as another day of the week. We celebrate this day, as all good Americans should, but we have moved it, for scheduling reasons to the Saturday before Flag day every year. We hope that you can join us in celebration, but if not,  please raise a flag in honor of the day that seems to be forgotten by most Americans in this country."

Assemblymen Raia & Lupinacci Host Mock Press Conference

Last week, Assemblymen Chad A. Lupinacci and Andrew P. Raia held a mock press conference at the South Huntington Public Library. The mock conference gave approximately 100 students from several Suffolk County high schools the opportunity to experience what official press conferences entail.

Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb along with Assembly members Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington), Nicole Malliotakis (R,C,I-Brooklyn, Staten Island) and their Assembly Minority colleagues today unveiled a legislative agenda designed to make a college education more affordable for students and families in New York State. Tuition costs have increased dramatically, creating financial hardships for families and saddling many young people with debt before their professional careers even begin.
