Flag Day 2016

Flag Day 2016

A Message from Elks Lodge #1565: "The celebration of Flag day is an annual event that is celebrated on June 14th. What most people don't know is that The Elks Organization were instrumental in lobbying for the recognition that eventually became an official holiday for the nation in 1916. Unfortunately, for most, this holiday has faded from most official calendars as another day of the week. We celebrate this day, as all good Americans should, but we have moved it, for scheduling reasons to the Saturday before Flag day every year. We hope that you can join us in celebration, but if not,  please raise a flag in honor of the day that seems to be forgotten by most Americans in this country."
